International Women's Day 2023

Updated: Jul 22, 2023

I was privileged to speak to over one hundred Year 12 students at Cecil Hills High School as part of International Womens Day 2023. Later that morning, I was interviewed for The Cecil Voice podcast and realised I might have a calling behind the mic; it was great fun.

The theme for IWD 2023 was #crackingthecode, with continued emphasis on #embraceequity. My passion for delivering accessible confidence made for an inspiring morning. Encouraging the students to look to confidence practices daily and providing easy tools to utilise regularly helped bring home the message confidence is a tangible thing, and everyone has it.

My take on the importance of being unafraid to take up space resonated with the audience as I shared my journey and how I'd overcome challenges to be where I am today.

Empowering and challenging younger women to be confident through strategies and stories of inspiration creates a ripple effect. When fear gets in the way, being able to call on strategies provides unbridled power for younger women to take a seat at the table and make change and that is really exciting!

Wishing the 2023 Year 12 Students, the very best of luck!
